The participant reports hobbies including going out with friends, shopping, and recently investing. They describe Instagram as useful for finding places (e.g., restaurants) and staying in touch with friends (sending Reels/messages), while the banking app supports practical needs (checking balance, pay, sending money) and investing. They did not set screen-time limits, saying they wouldn’t work for them. Over two weeks, they noticed using Instagram throughout the day (morning, commuting), and using the banking app around lunch to decide what they can afford, and after nights out to check spending the next morning. They sometimes switch from Instagram to banking when ads/products prompt potential purchases. Instagram can entertain briefly but can leave them feeling unproductive or indifferent afterward.
